About Barbara
I was injured in a workplace accident many moons ago and, after a surgeon pushed a surgical screw into my l5 nerve root, I was left with footdrop, neuropathy, intractable secondary pain and am now an ambulatory wheelchair. Rather than let it define me, it shaped me. My hypnotherapy practice expanded to specialise in pain management because I share techniques that I use every day.
After becoming disabled, I faced life’s challenges head-on (eventually, after sulking, flouncing and doing the self-ableism work)(still working on the self-ableism, that is not pretty), using my experiences to deepen my understanding of healing and well-being.
How pain shaped my practice
Over the years my hypnotherapy practice expanded to include specialising in pain management, bespoke recordings and voiceovers. The techniques I teach and the products I create are not theoretical. I use them in my own life, every day. When I say a meditation helps with pain, I mean it helps with my pain.
My approach
I combine practical, left-brain approaches with holistic, right-brain ones. Nowadays, complementary and holistic therapy is often referred to as Integrated Therapy or Integrated Healthcare and that’s exactly how I work.
Being comfortable working in the left-brain logical, medically inclined camp and the right-brain creative, esoteric field means that I am equally happy discussing neuroplasticity with a doctor as talking about soul retrieval with a shaman.
We make our own magic but sometimes lose our way or fall under spells that do not work in our favour. It is not my job or desire to fix, repair, change or impose but to guide you towards your life of bliss and success.
What I create
I use my knowledge to create products and lessons that support others in managing stress, pain reduction and life-balance. Whether through guided meditations, Reiki-infused music or Mind Loops, my mission is to make well-being accessible to everyone. My approach combines practical techniques with a holistic perspective, ensuring every resource nurtures the mind, body and spirit.
All of my products are designed to be used at home, in your own time, at your own pace.
Speaking and events
I am available for talks on hypnosis, pain management, stress management, meditation, creating your best life, writing to publish and as a therapy plus all related subjects.
My way of working is experiential rather than passive lecturing, although I can talk the hind legs off a donkey. Well, I would if I knew what that meant.
We can chat about accessibility beforehand. Travelling and accommodation costs will include a plus one.
